“In accordance with paragraph 2 of the orders of the President of the Russian Federation dated 23 August 2016 No. 1658 (as well as the corresponding order of D. A. Medvedev) in 2016 provided the commissioning of the 14 long-haul aircraft. Data court, formerly belonging to “Transaero”, “Aeroflot” was handed over to the airline “Russia” to improve transport accessibility of Russian regions, members of the far Eastern Federal district,” – said the Agency.
In August Vladimir Putin instructed the government, the airlines, Aeroflot, Sberbank, Bank VTB, Rossiya, and Vnesheconombank until December 1 to put into operation long-haul aircraft for flights to the far East. It was about the ships that were in the possession of the leasing companies after a work stoppage “Transaero” in September 2015. In October of the same year, the airline has revoked the air operator certificate.
Transaero was the only Russian operator of wide-body long-haul Boeing 747-400 (“Jumbo”). Most of the Park “Transaero” (hundreds of planes) was in the lease. The largest leasing companies — “Sberbank leasing”, “VTB leasing” and “VEB leasing”.
