More than 1,600 people were saved by the aviation of EMERCOM of Russia in 2016, according to acting Director of the Department of aviation-rescue technologies and unmanned aircraft EMERCOM of Russia Konstantin Moiseenko. It is reported by Interfax.
“The aviation of EMERCOM of Russia only in 2016 saved more than 1,650 citizens of the Russian Federation. Transported more than 62 thousands of rescuers and firefighters, more than 11 thousand tons of cargo, of which 496 tonnes of humanitarian aid,” he said at a workshop in Simferopol, which discussed the further development of the aviation of EMERCOM of Russia.
In addition, this year the planes and helicopters have completed more than 2700 drains on the fire, dropping about 19 thousand tons of extinguishing liquid, he said.
“The joint action of fire and rescue units, emergency services and aviation of EMERCOM of Russia managed to defend the territory of the Republic of Khakassia TRANS-Baikal region more than 60 thousand houses,” – said K. Moiseenko.
According to him, currently in service of EMERCOM of Russia is 17 planes and 51 helicopters. In turn, Deputy head of the National center for crisis management EMERCOM of the Russian Federation Sergey Vorontsov on the meeting noted that since the beginning of the year, four sanitary aviation evacuation from abroad, transported the four seriously ill patients, including three children.
“In Russia made 71 flight of sanitary aircraft evacuation. As a result, the aircraft transported more than 300 seriously ill patients, among which 241 children. 189 people were evacuated by helicopters, including 36 children,” – said Vorontsov.
He noted that for the most popular destinations are permanently deployed air bridges, enabling the rapid delivery of victims to specialized medical institutions on the territory of Russia.
