Tomsk authorities plan to issue specially chosen hunters special license to shoot crows in the vicinity of the airport; therefore, it is expected to deal with too large a number of birds, told RIA Tomsk the chief of regional Department of hunting and fisheries Victor Sirotin.
Earlier it was reported that the airport in Tomsk is a recurring problem for birds. The Prosecutor’s office found violations in the work of the ornithological service of the airport, but the employees argued that the airport has all necessary equipment for the protection of birds. In October, the administration of the Tomsk airport expressed the desire to involve shooting birds local Amateur hunters.
“Hunters, not for everybody but for certain persons (the airport), we will advise, we will issue permission for shooting crows, but only in the airport area. They will monitor <…>, to scare; where possible, will shoot <…>. In the spring of the management of the airport we specifically provide a list of hunters who would engage in this business,” said Sirotin.
He said that to regulate the number of birds in the airport area are hunters with weapons permit who have established themselves as bona fide experts in their field. This is supposed to be a small team of 5-10 people. To control the process of regulation of number of birds will be a special service of the airport.
