Today on the website of airports Council International – ACI Europe published the rating results of the European airports for Q3 2016. According to the classification of ACI Europe, airport “Borispol” was included in the third group of European airports (airports of medium size, serving every year between 5 and 10 million passengers), the press service of the airport.
“According to the rating results, during the quarter, the airport “Borispol” has increased the number of attracted passengers by 18.6%, becoming one of the leaders in its category along with the airports of Berlin, Larnaca, Tenerife and Bucharest. The average growth of passenger traffic in Europe in the 3rd quarter amounted to +3.5%, while in the EU it increased by 6.1%. In countries outside the EU (Russia, Turkey, Ukraine, Norway, etc.) recorded a fall of 4.7%. However, given the positive indicators directly to the airport “Borispol”, the report noted that “Ukraine has demonstrated noticeable improvement”, – told in the press service of the airport.
A range of measures to reform the airport for 2015-2016, in “Borispol” today, created a strong potential for further growth of passenger traffic. As can be seen from the report of ACI Europe, recently, the airport is becoming an increasingly visible player in the European airline market.
“In addition to “Boryspil”, the rating also includes another Ukrainian airport “Kharkiv”, referring to “least” on the European classification. The rest of the airports of Ukraine in the European rankings, while not providing a significant increase of passenger traffic”, – said at the airport.
