Deputy Minister of transport of Russia Valery Okulov on Tuesday came in the Savelovsky court of Moscow, where he was to testify in the case about theft of more than 122,5 millions of dollars in “Aeroflot” in the second half of the 1990s, RIA Novosti reported from the court.
Okulov was summoned to court as a witness at the initiative of the Prosecutor.
“He wouldn’t come tonight, will be tomorrow,” the Prosecutor said at the meeting.
Okulov previously held the position of General Director of “Aeroflot”. The prosecution in this case in absentia brought to the former first Deputy of the General Director “Aeroflot” Nikolay Glushkov, who is now a fugitive from justice in England.
According to investigators, in collusion with Berezovsky, Glushkov convinced the then head of “Aeroflot” Yevgeny Shaposhnikov to take out large monetary loans ostensibly for financial recovery of the company, and the money really was stolen.
