Египет заявил, что не продавал "Мистрали" России The statement of the Minister of defence of Poland that Egypt allegedly sold Russian helicopter “Mistral” for the symbolic amount of one dollar, illogical and simply not true. It is reported RIA Novosti with reference to the head of the press office and Advisor of the Embassy of the Arab countries in Moscow, Ayman Musa.

“How can you comment on that, if we know that Egypt is negotiating with Russia on the procurement of weapons for the “Mistral”? How Egypt could sell them for one dollar?” he said.

Answering the question of whether these allegations have anything to do with the real situation, he said, “of Course not. Have all Egyptian officials said that the country is interested to obtain from Russia weapons for the “Mistral”. Here “Egypt sells the “Mistral” for the dollar.” Why would I?”

Moscow and Paris in August 2015 broke the contract for the construction of two helicopter carriers, then the ships from France, acquired Egypt. Earlier this week, Cairo has turned to Russia with a request to supply Ka-52 helicopters for “Mistral”.
