В Португалии прошла конференция EASN с участием ЦАГИ At the end of October the delegation of the Central Aerohydrodynamic Institute named after Professor N. E. Zhukovsky (part of the NRC “Institute named after N. E.Zhukovsky”) participated in the 6th International conference European research network on Aeronautics EASN (European Aeronautics Science Network). The event was held in Porto (Portugal). It is reported by TSAGI.

EASN was founded as an open platform to support and develop research in the field of Aeronautics. TSAGI is officially on the network in 2015 and is a strategic partner of EASN from Russia.

“Representatives of TSAGI acquainted with the latest trends in foreign aerospace research and discuss global problems and forecasts of further development of Aeronautics. In the section devoted to aviation engineering, the scientists of the Institute spoke about their achievements in the field of research a new generation of metal-composite structures for advanced aircraft. The conference became a platform for building prospects for joint research within the framework of the cross year Russia and Greece. Met TSAGI, MIPT and University of Patras (Greece), with whom the Russian center of aviation science this spring signed a Memorandum of understanding to strengthen cooperation. The parties discussed preparation of a joint project on the subject of innovative metal-composite structures for advanced civil aircraft with the participation of the aerospace company Hellenic Aerospace Industry (Greece)”, – noted in TSAGI.

During a visit to Portugal, the TSAGI delegation also discussed with partners the launch of a joint initiative for students and young professionals and their involvement in scientific research on the development of concepts and the study of supersonic passenger aircraft. Project coordinators, in addition to the EASN, are the European space Agency (ESA) and the European organization for nuclear research (CERN). The Russian side is represented by TSAGI and MIPT.
