In early October, the Central Aerohydrodynamic Institute named after Professor N. E. Zhukovsky (part of the NRC “Institute named after N. E. Zhukovsky”) and the French national centre for aerospace research ONERA held its annual scientific seminar 15th Seminar TsAGIONERA. The venue was Sochi. About it reports a press-service of TSAGI.
“Non-traditional layout aircraft, aeroacoustics and noise reduction, advanced aircraft design are examples of the most pressing contemporary issues in Aeronautics, which were discussed by participants at the seminar. At one of the sessions was presented the results of studies on the development of methods of optimization of a frame of metal-composite structures, obtained by young scientists of TSAGI and ONERA in the framework of the joint project. The authors of this work last year became the first laureates of the prize named Danny Panic, former President of ONERA, one of the ideologists of the seminar. The award was established by Russian and French centres and aims to encourage joint research projects of young specialists of TSAGI and ONERA. The prize is awarded every two years, so the seminar discussed the details of the contest in 2017,” – said in TSAGI.
Special attention was paid to the issues of research cooperation. During the special session was signed the agreement on the launch of new bilateral projects in the coming year.
This seminar is included in the list of events celebrating 50 years of cooperation between Russia and France in the field of science and technology. A vivid example of successful cooperation is the partnership between TSAGI and ONERA, which lasts from the 1960s, “a Permanent dialogue between scientists, scientific seminars, participation in framework programme projects of the European Union, we have tremendous opportunities for joint research in the field of Aeronautics. It is important to note that this year’s ONERA celebrates its 70th anniversary, and long-term cooperation of TSAGI with the French centre Etalon mutually beneficial exchange of innovative ideas and results, which focused on key industry trends,” said General Director of FGUP TSAGI Sergey Chernyshev.
