Poland intends to buy thousands of unmanned aerial vehicles for the needs of territorial defense and operational forces, said Tuesday the head of the Ministry of defense Anthony Macierewicz. About it writes RIA Novosti.
“They (UAVs) are also trained to ensure that they were equipped with operational troops and above all the future troops of the territorial defence. We hope that they will soon enter serial production”, — said Macierewicz after an air show with the participation of UAVs in the framework of his visit to the military-technical University of armaments, the Agency PAP.
According to the Minister, the massive use of drones will reduce their price and to apply the UAV in “any defensive situation”, which may be Poland. Macierewicz, expressed the hope that through drones the combat readiness of Poland will enable the country “to defend itself against any threat.”
“I intend to buy as many (drones) as needed to operate various formations. These weapons, drones, it’s a massive weapon. Its effectiveness depends on mass. Thus, we are talking about thousands of copies,” he added.
