Space-rocket center “Progress” (Samara) began work on the translation of a space rocket complex “Soyuz-2” at the Vostochny cosmodrome (Amur region) for fuel instead of kerosene naphthyl, said in an interview with RNS Director General of the RCC “Progress” (Samara) Alexander Kirilin.
“Kerosene is used as fuel the main engines of carrier rockets “Soyuz-2.1 a and Soyuz-2.1 b” in conjunction with the oxidizer is liquid oxygen. The decision to use naftilo as fuel was made in connection with the gradual reduction of oil production of 4-th horizon. Naphthyl, in turn, can be produced from any kind of oil,” — said Kirilin.
According to him, “use naftel in engines of rockets “Soyuz-2″ will allow to deduce the order of 100200 kg additional payload”.
“Discusses the transfer of fuel naphthyl carrier rockets “Soyuz-2″, launched from Baikonur, Plesetsk and Kourou,” — said Kirilin.
