JSC “Russian space systems” (RKS, part of state Corporation “Roscosmos”) will present the latest products and developments on the basis of Russian technologies of Earth remote sensing (ERS) from space in the framework of the thirteenth Plenary meeting of the Group on Earth observations (GEO-XIII), which opened today in St. Petersburg. About it reports a press-service RKS.
Over 400 representatives from international and government agencies and communities, research and educational institutions from more than 40 countries will meet with the national geoinformation technologies for environmental monitoring. Modern solutions allow for integrated monitoring of natural resources, to assess and predict changes in their condition under the influence of anthropogenic and natural factors to regulate environmental quality and preventing environmental disasters.
RKS CEO Andrey Tyulin: “the Increase in Russia’s orbital grouping of space vehicles of remote sensing and development of relevant land-based infrastructure enhance our ability to create modern and innovative products and services based on satellite data. Today we are pleased to tell you about our growing opportunities most representative meeting of international experts in this field in the framework of the Plenary session of the Group on Earth observation”.
Director of projects on creation of Earth remote sensing Deputy General designer RKS Victor Selin: “Today, the RCC offers a wide market innovative information products based on remote sensing technologies to solve thematic tasks in the field of agriculture, forestry, ecology, Geology and other industries. Simultaneously with the growth of the Russian orbital grouping of space vehicles of remote sensing, we develop modern technology in accordance with the requirements of consumers of remote sensing data”.
Today, the Russian orbital constellation of remote sensing consists of eight spacecraft, providing the necessary shooting modes in the visible and infrared ranges, including hyperspectral imagery: “Resource-P” №1, №2 and №3, “Canopus-B”, “Electro-L” №1, №2 and “meteor-M” №1 and №2.
