The first time we are ready to offer a deep localization of production of our helicopters, including the organization of production of various helicopter components and assemblies. I hope that the Ka-226T helicopter Assembly of the Indian world is waiting for a big future”, said the head of the holding “Helicopters of Russia” Alexander Mikheev.
“The creation of a joint venture for the localization of production of Ka-226T is a fundamentally new and important step in the development of cooperation between India and Russia. Park of Russian helicopters in India today has more than 400 cars. But the first time we sign a large-scale comprehensive agreement for the supply and manufacture of new helicopters in the amount of 200 units, which completely meets the course Make in India”, said CEO of rostec Sergey Chemezov. In addition, within five years will create capacity for the repair and maintenance of helicopters. Under the terms of the intergovernmental agreement of the joint Russian-Indian company created the holding company “Helicopters of Russia”, “Rosoboronexport” and the Indian Corporation HAL, should organize the localization of production and supply of 200 light helicopters Ka-226T for nine years. The first of 60 helicopters will be produced in the Russian Federation, organization of production remaining 140 helicopters planned in India. In addition to the Assembly of helicopters provides service, maintenance, repair of helicopters and also providing them technical support.
The company should create capacities on repair and maintenance of helicopters produced in India for five years, and overhaul of helicopters for seven years after delivery of the first batch of helicopters. Light multipurpose helicopter Ka-226T with load-bearing system, made by twin-screw coaxial scheme, has a maximum takeoff weight of 3.6 tonnes, can carry up to 1 ton payload.
