Russia held the first international tournament on the design and launch of space satellites NTI Sputnik Challenge involving teams from BRICS countries. In the final, the winners of the competition will launch spacecraft from the Vostochny space centre. About this Agency city news “Moscow” have informed in a press-service of the Moscow Polytechnic University.
The press service explained that the participants will program the satellite, bring it into orbit, to manage and configure the connection to the Earth. The finals will take place in space: the victory will go to the team that created the functional companion.
“The tournament is organized at a high technical level, including the launch of the real spacecraft from the Vostochny space centre. Given the high cost of real satellites and launch them into orbit, the tournament will consist of several qualifying rounds. November marks the start of the first pilot run of the eliminations engineering student tournament “Orbit”. In this competition students will learn to manage companion and discover with the help of ballistic missile launches, as well as the satellite orbit is most favorable for communication with Earth. The final stage will be the team, whose satellite will be ready to run in the real world. The satellite will pass a series of tests on professional stands (aerodynamic suspension, vibration table and so on),” – said the Agency interlocutor.
