Russian manufacturer of supercapacitors TEAM (included in the holding company “ROTEK”), together with the Moscow Institute of steel and alloys (nust “MISIS”) has completed testing of a launch system based on supercapacitors own design. The system is able to start the engines of heavy wheeled, tracked and aviation equipment at extremely low temperatures (down to -65°C). About it reports a press-service of the company.
The modules based on supercapacitors TEAM possess high operational characteristics (specific voltage and power consumption). Unique design allows to reduce the weight and size of the Assembly modules 30% compared to similar devices of competitors. The use of multicomponent organic electrolyte expands operating temperature range of supercapacitors and launch system to -65°C.
“We plan to open first industrial production of supercapacitors in Khimki in early 2017. Sure, our products will enjoy steady demand in a wide variety of applications, from devices starting to uninterruptible power supply systems”, – said Sergey Kurilov, General Director of “TEEN”.
