Space-rocket center “Progress” (Samara) is implementing a project to create a space of new generation satellites “Obzor-R”, told reporters Wednesday in St. Petersburg Deputy Director General of state Corporation “Rosatom” Mikhail Khailov. This writes the RNS.
“The spacecraft (“Obzor-R) to a high level of manning onboard systems. I think starting next year our industry will begin an important phase of electrical testing of service systems,” said Khailov on the sidelines of the 13th Plenary meeting of the Group on Earth observations (GEO-XIII).
He explained that in these tests “the flight sample service systems will be installed on the machine, are connected by electrical connections, and start Roseanna testing modes of the device”.
Answering the question of when the expected launch of the satellite, Khailov said that “starting is possible by 2020”. “The device is very complicated. It is significantly more complex of the onboard equipment, modes of operation. So the testing need more time,” said Khailov.
He noted that the main difference between the new device “Review-R” is that it will be installed multi-mode high resolution radar based on the antenna with an active phased antenna array.
