In late September, the Central Aerohydrodynamic Institute named after Professor N. E. Zhukovsky (part of the NRC “Institute named after N. E.Zhukovsky”) took part in the 30th Congress of the International Council of the aeronautical Sciences ICAS 2016. TSAGI is the official representative of Russia in this organization. The event was held in the city of Daejeon (South Korea). About it reports a press-service of TSAGI.
Scientists of the Institute presented more than 20 reports. The presentation focused on the aerodynamics of new aircraft structures, propulsion, flight dynamics, control systems and history of Aeronautics. Experts of the Russian center of aviation science were moderators of the several sections.
This year the scientific discussion took place in 12 directions, which contained about 120 subjects. Total was around 450 oral presentations. In the working days of the Congress were held and more than ten parallel sessions also took place the presentation of poster reports.
The international Council of the aeronautical Sciences (ICAS) non-profit Association designed to promote international cooperation, free exchange of information and ideas. It is the only independent international organization in the field of Aeronautics, uniting 30 countries and most of the key world organizations and companies in the industry. Russia (formerly Soviet Union) is a member of ICAS since 1967.
